Welcome to the official website of the Brainerd Housing and Redevelopment Authority

 

 
 

The Brainerd Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) is a unit of local government that was created by the City of Brainerd to provide affordable housing and related housing and redevelopment programs and services for the City of Brainerd, Minnesota.  We administer the Housing Choice Voucher program throughout Crow Wing County.
 
Decent, Safe, Affordable Rental Housing:  The Brainerd HRA owns and/or manages 323 units of affordable rental housing in the City of Brainerd.  Please visit the "Housing for Rent" page on this website to learn more about the decent, safe and affordable rental housing we own and/or manage. 
 
Rental Assistance:  The Brainerd HRA administers the HUD Housing Choice Voucher program (formerly called HUD Section Eight) in Crow Wing County, which provides rental assistance to households that is sent directly to the rental property manager.  Please visit the "Rental Assistance" page on this website to learn more about the Housing Choice Voucher program.

How to Apply
 
Applying for our affordable rental housing units or programs is fast and easy.  We use one application for all of our programs and housing developments, including the affordable rental housing we manage and the Housing Choice Voucher rental assistance program.  Click on the link below for a PDF copy of our application, or call, fax, or e-mail us, and we will send an application to you.  You can also stop by our office and pick up an application or fill one out and turn it in.
